I’ve had a crazy week. Its good to wind down, take photos for me with no pressure but to positively create. Learned a lot this week, but thats for another day. These are all random thoughts i’ve saved as drafts throughout the week, so bear with me if its choppy
Why do people like to over complicate things?
Is it because the simple truth is not enough for them? Or is it denial? Or maybe is it because the complicated version is much more intriguing… or is it something completely different? I suppose its different for everyone
Patience. Something we all need and one of the hardest things to get. But patience takes patience. And at the end of the day i think you have to want patience. Certain things in my life has happened to me that has made me learn that patience is one of the greatest gifts to have. But also, with the certain things that have happened in my life it has led me to God. And it has led me to want a relationship with Him, to want to understand His everlasting word. Getting closer to Him has put more peace in my heart that in turn has made me more patient. It has let me be at ease with the world and its ways. It has let me be at ease with every question i have unanswered, with the future, with the maybes and the i don’t knows. It has made me at ease with my past and with my experiences. Everyday. And i only wish the same for everyone. Of course i am not perfect and i definitely have my days, weeks, months whatever where i am a hot mess. But i know that i have much work to do and much more to learn (we never stop learning after all) But i am okay with all of this. Everyday i am learning growing gaining new experiences and everyday He teaches me something new. Let Him teach you.
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart
and try to love the questions themselves…
Do not now seek the answers,
which cannot be given to you because you will not be able to live them.
And the point is, to live everything.
Live the questions now.
Perhaps you will then gradually,
without noticing it,
live along some distant day into the answer.”
One of my favorite quotes.
I think often we loose sight of the big picture. I think often we focus too hard on things that have not even happened yet. I think often we replay our past over and over again, hitting ourselves for what we did years ago. I think too often we focus on the negative and not enough on the positive. More on the hate than the love. But mostly i think too many of use forget the “today” the “right now” because this moment right now that you are spending thinking about something that MAY happen 5 years from now or MAY not, but this moment right now, IS happening and it is passing. Thats not to say “YOLO” and go and get buck and do crazy shit. See, you must know the in between. You have to see the line. Live your day as you wish (i hope positively) because all we are guaranteed after all is today and nothing else. And i think we forget that all too much. Make the most of TODAY. Hold on to the moments today brings and then let them go for tomorrow brings new moments. “The good times will come and then they will go. The bad times will come and then they will go. Our job is not to cling to one or to fight the other but to allow them both to teach us and polish us” (Regina Brett) i LOVE this!! it is so true!! too many of us want to hold on to, and desperately hold on to to things that need to be let go of. If not they drag you down and it gets heavy and soon you are sinking. We must learn to take everything as it comes and to let it go just as easily.
“Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you’re just coming out of one, or you’re getting ready to get into another one. The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort. God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy.” – Pastor Rick Warren
Its true, there is always going to be something bad but there is always going to be something good as well.
lol so many quotes today! And some Scriptures to tie in what i was talking about as well.
James 4:13,14,15: “Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lords will, we will live and do this or that.”(NIV)
Matthew 6:34 : Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble on its own. (NIV)
The bible is the greatest teacher.
